Ron Artest is joining the Lakers, "I’m definitely going to L.A. — to sign, yeah," Artest said in a phone interview. "Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. I’m in L.A. right now." Artest said that he met with owner Dr. Jerry Buss Thursday, has spoken with Phil Jackson and is meeting with his agent, David Bauman, tonight to finalize details. "I don't really care about the money," Artest said. "I'll play there for nothing."We all know about Ron Ron's on court and off court trouble, but he brings in the intangible that only few others can bring in, 'intensity and toughness'.
On another note, Trevor Ariza will not be returning to the Lakers. He has verbally agreed to join Artest's former team, the Rockets. You can't blame him to opt in for a bigger paycheck and a chance for stardom and the (possible) #1 guy on the team. Definitely a win-win for Ariza and Artest.
This kinda screwed up the Cavs though, with high hopes in getting one of the two as Lebron's sidekick. But who knows what's gonna happen next :)
