Hedo and Matrix next year?
Hedo just rejected an offer from Portland, ended the conversation. This makes Raptors the highest bidder.
The Matrix is also close to resign with the Raptors for 4 years with a $34M offer.
Hedo and Matrix starting for Raptors next year?
Ron Artest a Lakers! Wow!
Ron Artest is joining the Lakers, "I’m definitely going to L.A. — to sign, yeah," Artest said in a phone interview. "Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. I’m in L.A. right now." Artest said that he met with owner Dr. Jerry Buss Thursday, has spoken with Phil Jackson and is meeting with his agent, David Bauman, tonight to finalize details. "I don't really care about the money," Artest said. "I'll play there for nothing."
We all know about Ron Ron's on court and off court trouble, but he brings in the intangible that only few others can bring in, 'intensity and toughness'.
On another note, Trevor Ariza will not be returning to the Lakers. He has verbally agreed to join Artest's former team, the Rockets. You can't blame him to opt in for a bigger paycheck and a chance for stardom and the (possible) #1 guy on the team. Definitely a win-win for Ariza and Artest.
This kinda screwed up the Cavs though, with high hopes in getting one of the two as Lebron's sidekick. But who knows what's gonna happen next :)

Raptors draft freshman DeRozan
Raptors picked USC swingman DeMar DeRozan ninth overall in the NBA draft.
DeRozan, 19, averaged 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Trojans last season, and was named the most valuable player of the Pac-10 tournament - as a freshman.
Good pick! We have waited long enough to get a new high flyer to cheer for!

Pops Mensah-Bonsu had his best game as a Raptors on Sunday. Finished with 21 points and 8 boards in 21 minutes of play.
Lots of good hustle play from the new guy (full gallery).

Let's Play For Next Year?
As of today, the Raptors has a 2.8% of winning the lottery according to ESPN's mock draft generator.
The top three (Blake Griffin, Greg Monroe, James Harden) are sure thing that can help any team right away. Just start tanking so that we can land one of them.

Shaq's comeback trip - LA, Orlando and Miami
After calling Chris Bosh the RePaul of big men few nights ago. Shaq played his three former teams - the Lakers, Magic and the Heats.
The highlight of these games? Not very pretty...
Against Dwight Howard - basketbawful has a great coverage on the whole.
Against the Heats: "O'Neal fouled [Dwyane] Wade with 1:21 left, then stood over him Muhammad Ali-style until Udonis Haslem nudged him O'Neal out of the way to help up Miami's best player. Wade made both free throws for a 127-119 lead, and cries of 'M-V-P' drowned out a profane anti-Shaq chant from some in the crowd."

Shaq responds to Bosh
Paul Coro, The Arizona Republic: "After Shaquille O'Neal scored 45 against Toronto on Friday, Raptors star Chris Bosh said O'Neal had benefited from officials ignoring his three-second lane violations. 'I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that's strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,' O'Neal said. 'I'm going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before — make him quit. Make 'em quit and complain. It's what I do.' O'Neal is the only NBA player other than Stephon Marbury and Bernard King to record 40-point games with four teams. 'I warned these guys he can do that,' Lakers coach Phil Jackson said."

Bosh says O’Neal cheated in his 45-point night
The Suns got an easy 20 points victory against the Raptors on Friday night. CB4 blame the referee, “He was just camping down in the lane,” Bosh said Friday night, after O’Neal’s biggest scoring night in six years. “I mean, if they’re not calling three seconds—I thought it was a rule, but I guess not.”
“It was cool,” O’Neal said. “Guys were really looking for me. I’ve been saying all year if I can get those touches like that, I think I can do that every night.”

NBA Players using Twitter
Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (known as tweets).
Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends.
Twitter was found in 2006 and rapidly gained popularity ever since. As of today, it is the third largest social network behind Myspace and Facebook. Many celebrities and politicians are also using this service to expand their reach.
There are more NBA players getting into this with Shaq (the Most Dominant Ever) leading the pack. It is a great way for real fans to follow their players.
Below is a list of NBA players using Twitter:
Baron Davis
Chris Bosh
Danny Granger
Dwight Howard
Jason Richardson
Jason Thompson
Jalen Rose
Kyle Korver
Marcus Williams
Shaq
Steve Nash
Troy Murphy
Tyson Chandler

Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix made his Raptors debut on Wednesday night. It is not something a Raptors fan wants to see though. With CB4 sitting out with injury, the Raptors is pretty much out of it after the first 24 minutes of the game. To be fair though, it is only the first game and we are hosting the second(best?) team in the East. It should get better after CB4 came back and Marion gel in with the team.
As usual, King James just plow through the Raptors defense and almost recorded a triple double with 20points, 9 boards and 9 dimes.

2009 Slam Dunk Contest
Nate Robinson takes home the trophy with a dunk over Dwight Howard.. looking back at the previous years:
Past Winners
2000—Vince Carter, Toronto
2001—Desmond Mason, Seattle
2002—Jason Richardson, Golden State
2003—Jason Richardson, Golden State
2004—Fred Jones, Indiana
2005—Josh Smith, Atlanta
2006—Nate Robinson, New York
2007—Gerald Green, Boston
2008—Dwight Howard, Orlando
The 2000 dunk contest is so great that it has been really difficult to bring it to the same level in the past nine years. This year is no exception.
The duel between ex-raptors VC and TMAC are still regards as one of the best all time.
At least LeBron James may participate in the 2010 event, which should give us something to look forward for the 2010 All Star Game.

Jason Kapano 3-Point Shootout 3peat Fail
It is disappointing to see that Jason Kapano fell short of a three-peat for the 3-point shootout... nothing seems to be going right with the Raptors this season.
